Not only does the samsung wb 500 have a wider focal length, it also makes you look younger
Samsung takes the wide-andgle to a new level with the WB500, a fun and easy to use camera with a good quality Schneider Lens, which is 24 to 240 mm in 35 mm film equivalent, meaning it has 10*zoom capacity.
We tested the ultra wide lens and foun it captured good quality and clean photos especially in a well lit environment. In dimmer surroundings we had som problems focusing on the subject.
That said samsung WB 500 does have some very useful and effective shooting modes.
One of these is the Dual Image Stabilisation mode, which meshes the Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) with the sophisticated algorithms of Digital Image Stabilisation (DIS) to deliver sharp photos.
I tested samsung WB 500 the mode while riding a bus and was mor than happy with the sharp images.
All of us in the newsroom love the Another mode Beauty shotmode, as it made us look fresher and younger. Unfortunately, sometimes it went a little crazy and reporters with paler complexions looked a little too white.
These useful modes can be accessed directly on the dial switch. Other scenery modes are less conveniently accessed, requiring you to work through a few menu layers.
Samsung WB500 provides a frame guide mode, where by you use the first shot as a guideline for compostiting the real shot.
